General Information
This page is for students wishing to do their master's work under the supervision of a PhD student from the AAIL.
Two scenarios are possible:
- You wish to undertake an academic thesis. You will then be asked to write a Master's Thesis Proposal .
- You wish to do your master's work in the form of a company internship. You must then already have a company internship ensured and a supervisor from the company (see Master Thesis with a company).

❗ In both cases, we ask you to fill out the following form:

⏰ Application Guidelines for Master's Thesis Supervision
Capacity: We do not publicly disclose our remaining supervision capacity. However, we typically supervise approximately 6 Master's theses per year.
Application Timing:
- Spring Semester Theses:
- Apply 2-3 months in advance (preferably in October-November)
- This early application significantly increases your chances of acceptance
- Fall Semester Theses:
- Applications a few weeks before the semester starts are generally acceptable
General Recommendation: To maximize your chances of securing supervision, we strongly advise applying 2-3 months before your intended start date, regardless of the semester.
